Finding Information Q & A

Some of your frequently asked questions:

Steps

WHERE DO I FIND CIRB APPROVAL LETTERS AND CURRENT PROTOCOLS AND CONSENT FORMS?

The CIRB documents for National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN), Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials (ETCTN), and NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) studies are posted on the Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) website. You can find each study under the CIRB documents tab.

Studies that are part of the Phase 0/I/II Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Program (also known as Consortia) are not posted on the CTSU website; they are distributed through the Consortia Lead Organization.  For more information, go to Navigating the CIRB as a Consortia Site.

Steps

WHERE DO I FIND APPROVAL LETTERS SPECIFIC TO MY SIGNATORY INSTITUTION?

Approval Letters are sent to the person who submitted the Worksheet, the Principal Investigator(s) and Signatory Institution Primary Contact(s).  Approval Letters are also available in IRBManager with each completed Worksheet.  For more information on how to find and view Approval Letters and boilerplate language for completed xForms (Worksheets) associated with your Signatory Institution in IRBManager, go to IRBManager - Finding Approval Letters and Approved Boilerplate Language.

Steps

WHO HAS ACCESS TO VIEW INFORMATION IN IRBMANAGER FOR MY INSTITUTION?

Everyone listed on your institution's CIRB roster has access to IRBManager.  For more information on how to view and update the people associated with your Signatory Institution, go to Viewing Your CIRB Roster using RUMS or Updating Your CIRB Person Roster using RUMS.

If you are a Consortia site, go to Navigating the CIRB as a Consortia Site for information on how processes vary for you.

Steps

WHERE DO I FIND THE INSTITUTIONS COVERED BY MY SIGNATORY INSTITUTION?

A list of institutions associated with your Signatory Institution is available on the CTSU website, under the Roster Update and Management System (RUMS) interface. For more information on how to view your CIRB institution roster, refer to the Updating Your CIRB Institution Roster using RUMS.

If you are a Consortia site, go to Navigating the CIRB as a Consortia Site for information on how processes vary for you.

Steps

WHAT IF I HAVE PROBLEMS LOGGING INTO IRBMANGER OR CTSU?

All institutional staff listed on the CIRB roster must have an assigned CTEP person ID and an active IAM account.  Staff listed on CIRB Roster will have access to IRBManager. The CTEP person ID and IAM accounts are assigned and administered by the Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU), not the CIRB. For more information managing your IAM account, go to Managing Your CTEP Registration.
