Dr. Victoria Forte serves as Cancer Service Line Director and Chief of Hematology-Oncology at Richmond University Medical Center. Prior to joining RUMC she served in these same roles at New York City Health and Hospitals/King’s County. She has also served as Medical Director at Puma Biotechnology where she was pivotal in the FDA approval of a novel HER2 targeted therapy in breast cancer.
She completed her hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. There she was awarded the Broad Stem Cell Clinical Scholars Grant. She presented her translational biomarker research in several conferences including ASCO, American Society of Clinical Oncology and AACR, American Association of Cancer Research. Prior to her time at USC she was an internal medicine resident in Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate where she rotated through King's County, Brooklyn VA and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. At MSKCC she conducted several research projects in immunology and brain metastases.
She has been extensively published in several high impact peer reviewed journals and participates in a number of professional societies. Her special interests are the multi-disciplinary care of breast cancer, novel therapeutics, clinical trials, translational research and personalized medicine.
