Jennifer Welch MD

Dr. Jennifer Welch is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Brown University Alpert School of Medicine and cares for children with cancer and blood diseases at Hasbro Children’s/Brown University Health.  She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology at Brown University.  Dr. Welch is the Brown University Health Director of Pediatric Hematologic Malignancies and Director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinical Research.  She is actively involved as physician-investigator in the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Consortium and the Children’s Oncology Group Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Committee serving as institutional COG Principal Investigator for 10 years and ongoing site Principal Investigator for DFCI/ALL.  She also conducts research on the psychosocial effects of cancer on children and families.  She currently serves as chair of one of her institution’s IRBs.
