The CIRB consists of four separate boards — each of which is responsible for specific types of studies.
- Adult CIRB - Late Phase Emphasis (LPE) - established in 2001 for the review of NCTN adult Phase 3 and Phase 2/3 studies. Click here to view the Adult CIRB - Late Phase Emphasis members roster.

The boards are comprised of Patient Representatives, Ethicists, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physicians, and Statisticians. Each CIRB has a different area of specialization (see graphic above) and may require additional members to ensure the proper expertise is represented. A member serves on one of four boards.
